How do I schedule a lesson?
All scheduling is done online, here is a step by step to help you get started!
Click Book Now.
Create an account.
Go to your Dashboard to add your kids information in by clicking "add learner."
Purchase your lessons, they act as a credit on your account and will be deducted as you reserve time slots.
Click Calendar, You will see teachers listed on top and the time slots below.
The blue button that says "+ schedule" means that slot is available!
Click that button and then select the child you want in that time slot, and Wahla! Its yours!
How do I cancel or reschedule a lesson?
We require a 24 hour notice when canceling a lesson and cancellations can only be done online. If you are outside of that time frame, go to the day on the calendar that you want to cancel, find your child's time slot and click the circle with the line through it. The lesson will be removed from the schedule and credited back to your account.
For same day recheduling, you can change the time of your lesson if another slot is available. You must make the change 1 hour prior to your original scheduled lesson. From a computer drag and drop to the new time slot by clicking and holding the cross on the right hand side of your child's time slot box.
If your child is sick the day of, you can try to reschedule this with your instructor, but due to their busy schedules, we can not guareentee a reschedule time or credit of the lesson. It will be considered a No Show and you will be charged for the time slot. You can bring another child or give the lesson slot to a friend. If you are making a change of student the day of, please contact us.
What if there is bad weather?
In the case of bad weather your instructor will contact you prior to the lesson and either credit your account or set up a make up lesson. You will never be charged for a lesson when it is cancelled by the instructor. Please make sure you have a good contact phone number and email address on your account. We typically reach out via text or phone call.
Our pool is outdoors for the summer and indoor for the winter thanks to our dome! We always keep the water heated so your little one is comfortable.
More scheduling tips....
Your Dashboard will list all of your scheduled, upcoming and past lessons. You can download your lessons onto your phone from the mobile site! We will also send you a weekly email each sunday of your upcoming lessons.
Each month on the 15th at 8am we will add a new month of booking to our calendar. This allows you to book 2 to 3 months in advance.
We recommemd sticking with the same teacher or maybe 2, you can set the calendar to only show you one instructors schedule for an entire week. Use the drop down buttom right in the middle of your calendar screen.
We have a no refund policy, so please keep that in mind when making purchases. Your lessons can be transfered to other accouts. All regular priced lessons have a 1 year expiration date. Promotional or sale lessons will specify when the expiration date is and may vary depending on the promotion.
What can I expect on the first day?
Day 1 is what we call the evaluation lesson. We will take your child through 5 fundamentdal skills to see how they react in the pool, we will personality profile your child. Are they fearless, timid, stubborn, or analytical. Based on that we will begin customizing thier lessons!
During lessons its normal to experience some crying and even burping and throwing up. Think of it this way, we are strangers, the pool is a strange place and we are putting them new situations. So its best to let us, as instructors, bond with your child (sometimes with you hiding) and begin to get familiar with the lesson plans! As far as burps and throw up, children go through a process to learn how to hold their breath, at the beginning they swallow some water, if they do we actually want them to throw up. Better out than in! As they progress you may hear some large burps exit your child's body, this means they aren't swallowing water any more, now they are swallowing air! Over time they will start to blow bubbles which is the proper technique we strive for in the water!
Our location is tricky to find, so I recommend checking it out on google maps before hand and giving yourself extra time.
How often should I schedule my child's lessons?
Consistency is key, and the more we see you the more your child will progress.
Coming 4 to 5 times a week is considered a fast track option for families wanting to progress quickly, for example families going on a trip wanting to thier little ones to get safe fast!
Coming 3 times a week is what we reccommend for EVERYONE! This allows the child to get used to the lesson routine and bond with thier instructor, stick with this schedule for atleast 1 to 3 months.
Coming 1 to 2 times a week is what we consider a maintence program, so if you are happy with were your child is in thier skill set, move them into this routine so they can work on maintaining those skills. If they beging regressing we recommend bumping up your weekly lesson count.
Double lessons (40 minutes) are a great way to get extra pool time with out making multiple trips to the pool in a week. So if you have a big commute or have an older child working on strokes we recommend snagging 2 slots back to back!
